About This Quote

Throughout most of his life, my father kept up the appearance of being a Catholic. However, he was an Orthodox Eclectic. He had done most of the praying himself for many years before he finally decided to send me to Catholic school. It was one of my most cherished childhood memories.

He had built up a whole system of imaginary people and events in his head. And, he would sit with me and tell stories about them, sometimes for hours on end, all while we were playing Monopoly or Risk.
